Job description: Mayfair Regency restoration, Lake Shore Drive, Chicago, IL The Regency (neighbor to the Drake Hotel) was converted from a hotel to a high priced residential condominium building. To accommodate new plumbing needs, a large area of plaster ceiling had to be removed to allowed for work access. In order to do this, a large (overhead) mold of a 6'x6' ceiling panel was taken "in situ" from the 25' high foyer ceiling prior to plumbing demolition. Numerous duplicate panels were cast in a specially formulated flexible lightweight composite in order to simplify installation and to allow for variances along the radius of the 150' ceiling.
